Average lifespan of Gen 5 SS brake rotors?

Seems I end up changing pads every time I get tires, around 25-30k miles. I resurfaced the rotors on the last brake change but didn't this time because they'd been done twice already and I was concerned about thinning them out. How often do you replace rotors? I use OE semi metallic pads.

All depends on how to drive it. I have 33k on original pads and rotors. Still not past half way on pads.

I don't autocross or anything like that but I do take advantage of their capability on occasion. I wonder if yours wear slower due to your manual trans vs my auto?

I just recently had my original rotors and pads replaced at 60k. Fronts only. Still on original rears. Developed a groove in one of the front rotors so couldn't be resurfaced.

A manual trans can be used for braking where an auto can’t, as far as I know. I have 39k on my car and pads and rotors look fine.

How much of a lip do you have at the edge of your rotors? I have a pretty pronounced one, but I don't know if that's normal or not for my mileage.

That's what I was thinking too. I DD mine and have to deal with some stop and go traffic most days, I just wasn't sure what normal rotor wear was. Pads are cheap enough and easy enough to change but I'm sure rotors are an investment.

Did the standard brakes change in 2014? I have ceramic pads on my 2014, and when the pads wore out, the garage manager told me they had to replace the rotors at the same time because they wear at the same rate as the pads. He said that's how they're such great brakes, they are engineered that way. He also said my brakes are pretty much the same as what is on the Corvette. It was so freakin' expensive when I had to have done!

Got about 53000 miles on my original rotors. Definitely were under spec. Includes seven years of 10-12 autocross events per each of those years. As to Pads , on third set.

I think he is full of crap if he didn't compare actual rotor thickness to minimum required.

I changed my rotors after 50,000 miles were on them.

Sorry, just seeing this. No pronounced edge on the new ones, pretty smooth to the edge. I have on the rear what you're describing.

Depends how you drive. I have 46K on the original pads and rotors and as of last inspection still have plenty of meat left on the pads. Rotors are smooth also.
