Did some CF and paint work on the SS project car.. almost done

We've been working hard on our magazine project car called CP-28 (since we were tired of waiting for GM's Z28)

To help give the car some individuality we installed a Seibon carbon fiber hood along with a trunk lid and rear spoiler from Anvil auto.

But in thier raw CF form they looked tacked on so we grabbed some PPG paint and headed over to our shop Best Of Show Coachworks, in San Marcos, for some time in the paint booth.

Now we are trying to get the car ready for an event this weekend so we only had three days to do the deal. That meant that there wasn't time to bodywork the panels. Lucky for us that they fit really good.. not perfect, but pretty damn close.

The basic stripe design was thought up by artist Ben Hermance, but we made some changes. The CF stripes were outlined in red pinstripe and then burried in 6 coats of clear. Afterwards it was all cut and buffed.

We also got around to installing the Heritage grill we had laying around. I think it looks way better and it wasn't very hard to install. While we had the nose off we repainted it since it was battered from all the track testing and events.

We also got a sweet prototype SS badge made specifically to fit the Heritage grill. They did ours in a custom red, but the for sale versions will come in quite a few colors. They make them for the back as well.

Look for stories on this in a future issue of Camaro Performers and we look forward to bringing the car out to the Camaro5 fest..

Looks awesome! Do you know if they plan on making the SS badge for the stock grill? A bunch of us are tired of waiting on Sparks Restorations to make theirs.

Nice looking car. Although the design of the hood stripe is very unimaginative. An artist thought that up?

These came from Sparks.. they said they are close to having the SS emblems done for the standard grill (which are tough to do compared to these)

In any event they were great to work with.

See the story here:

The higher power is since we added an Innovative West 8-rib pulley system

why does the one on your front grill look bigger than the one that they offer?
