oil seperator
hey any of guys/gals put that stock oil separator in your car that you got from GM with our cars. I daily my car and take it to the dragstrip here and there.. should I put this on. I was told only for when using at the track... is this true... any help would be great.

Mine was put on by dealer when I bought the car. I never take it off, lol. Soon to be getting a catch can as well. See my thread in the 1LE forum for a picture of intake.

OP, the reason it is technically only for off-road use is that, in temps below 32 degrees, moisture can collect it in and eventually run into the crankcase. That moisture will then compromise your oil and be bad for the engine. Theoretically.
So, if you drive year round, you will want to take it off in the winter. Otherwise, there are no negative side effects . |

This clean side catch can is only really necessary for the track, as the flow is usually INTO the valve cover from the intake tube. Only under WOT does the crankcase build up enough pressure to push oil vapor back up into the intake tube. Hence why you'd use it while racing

Living in SE GA, the car never sees temps below 40 (usually), so I left ours on as it was installed at the dealer. If the car were to experience cooler temps, I would not leave it on for condensation / freezing reasons.
