Here is a pic indicating where it hits. It hits in the area that is circled red. Basically the downward turned part of the resonator comes in contact with the top of the black cross brace.

I currently have 2 washers at each corner of the brace and rubber inserts between the resonator and brace to keep it from contacting. (the rubber is a temp solution because it heats up and smells like burned rubber)

I know the instructions say install both sensors after fitted but would it be easier to install upper sensor before fitting on the LS3? anyone

I would suggest installing the rear sensors before you install the cats since they are in a very tight area. The upper ones you can reach with a wrench to tighten and they are in the way when trying to bolt up the cats to the manifolds.

Maybe a tunnel brace with more clearance will get the job done .....

Not for $220 it wont... I did get something for $80 that seems to work though. It is a brace that is only about 2 inches wide and stiffer than stock brace. It seems to have plenty of clearance.

True dat! Maybe you can post the brace you found, as I'm sure others will have the same issue ....

I got mine from BMP. It still *can* get hit by the resonator but it takes much more of a bump to do it. At least it isnt constantly hitting/vibrating like it used to. I have only heard it hit once since I put it on and that was a fairly big bump in a construction zone.

My next option if I didnt get a good brace would be to wrap the brace with header wrap a few layers thick. That would create a heat resistant 'pad' that the resonator could rest against without causing metallic rattle/clanks.
