5 Spoke Wheel Question

I have seen a close up picture recently and can't remember where that showed what appeared to be thye 5 spoke wheel. It showed what appeared to be a coating, possibly paint on all but the flat front facing pieces. The rough parts between the spokes also. It looks grey or pewter.
Does anyone know if this is the way they will be? I was hoping that they would be polished all the way except between the spokes.

I found where I saw the wheel I was questionig. It is in the ZL1 Convertible introduction video. It looks like it has a gray coating on all but the outer rim and front facing polished flat pieces.

Here it is from last weeks show in Chicago. THis is the origianal prototype from the Chicago Auto show ZL1 annaouncement, so some production changes have been made to the car since, but the wheels have remained the same....

I think that you might be referring to the wheels that were on the Carbon Concept ZL1. The Carbon Concept version of the 5 spoke wheel is not currently available on the ZL1. Here are pictures of the Carbon Concept ZL1 wheel and the currently available optional polished wheel.

The Carbon Concept look is what I am going to try and duplicate. I want to have the area between the spokes powdercoated or painted butr I am hoping that the spokes are polished all the way.

The picture from BruceDD has the best angle. I have seen the wheels close up and the only part that is polished are the flat facet spears near the rim edge and the edge of the rim between the spears. Everything else is painted silver or black as with the Carbon Edition.

Thanks for all the information. Funny how the prototype had nice polished wheels and now that it is closer to production we are getting the dull finish. As shown in the picture dated 20-11-2011.

Yep, and seeing it in person I can attest that the dim lighting combined with the floor color really didn't show the polished off portion of these wheels very well.

It did NOT change from when it debuted in Chicago but it definitely looks different with different lighting and different angles. That is why I had to go and see it in person. Brucedd's photo has the best angle I have seen that shows the polished versus the painted.

Thanks, I was just thinhking of how dull the SS polished wheels are. They are definately the dullest of the Challenger, Mustang, Camaro polished wheels. I thought they were dulling down the ZL1 wheels after seeing the picture in this thread.

do you think that you could have the wheel painted to match the carbon version?
