Brilliantly written.
Thank you Also explains why Claymore - my faithful old Z28 will still be here when Anduriil arrives any day now and why she still makes me smile every morning when I fire her up and hear that V8 rumble. (and my daughter is anxiously waiting to take my place behind the wheel) These are not just cars - not just anonymous, clockwork jelly mould designs - they connect with us at a visceral , rumbling level and make even the daily run to work a little adventure. Thor has sparked chain lightning all over the country - so hopefully he will have a good future home.

He can buy Thor if GM sends him to auction. If Thor is sent back to fleet duty, it may be some time before he's up for sale...or other things could happen...

You know I just had an idea. We have something like 15,000 members of Camaro5 don't we? How about all of us paypal $3 to Scott so he can buy Thor! If we all do it that's $45,000 and should cover everything! To us it's what, a cup of coffee? But to him; it's our way of saying "thank you" for changing our lives for the better.
What say you fellow Camaro5 owners?

My god man I hope you don't get the Diesel Chevette back
Glad I got a chance to meet you & Thor at the last cruise with Tom Henry. Very nice get together. How can you now live without a 2010/2011 Camaro?

Well Scott, all good things must come to an end.... Thor was the first Camaro I was able to drive. It was a thrill I'll never forget.
Thanks Rob

Can we all start a petition with GM to save "Thor" from an untimely demise? This car should be on the road with a owner who would appreciate it or in a traveling museum for the rest of us to apprecitate over the years. But what do I know? Its only a car right?

Scott,
The emotion I am feeling now may be strange to some but to a lot of us it makes perfect sense. Cars are not just cars they are symbols. Symbols of freedom, independance, passion, symbols that remind us of going to Grandpas and Grandmas on sundays for dinner. They remind us of our past growing up spending time with our family. They are a connetion that lasts longer then the people that they remind us of. I took delivery of my car this saturday, and it is perfect. When my father sat in it he said it made him remember when he got his 69 GTO, and his eyes lit up, and the story of him being in Germany at the time and how my grandfather had to pick it up for him. Driving it home with his hat on and a big cigar in his mouth. And how all the young girls and guys were staring at him as he drove it home. I was driving it yesterday and was stopped at a light. I was fiddling around with the radio and noticed the truck in the other lane was stopped blocking traffic. The drivers head was scanning it up and down with his jaw open and he said "nice"! I smiled and revved it a few times and then said thanks and drove on my way. It made me remember the story of my grandfather. Scott thank you for helping make this possible. Dreams do come true. Thor may be leaving but he will not be forgotten. Perhaps down the line a Z28 or a convertible lies in your future. Maybe a Lacross. Someday you'll be reunited. But from the bottom of my heart Thank You.
