I was looking at those too...holy crap they are pricey! I really like the gunmetal grey unit, nice and clean.

My only concern by going with the RX breather to replace the vacuum hose from the vararam coupler is:

Where does the catchcan get the vaccum from?

I seem to remember that the radiator design changed ever so slightly and in the process, they moved the radiator cap over a bit. Enough that it would no longer fit within the space that Vararam allocated for it in the intake.

What I dont like about the VRam connection is it is a 3/8" barb fitting that protrudes app 1" into the intake air stream causing a small amount of disturbance. We replace it with a 1/4 NPTx 3/8" barb 90* fitting if retaining it.

If you use the RX checkvalved breather you just eliminate that line and there is no path for oil ingestion on the clean side.

Why does the catchcan even come with a fresh air inlet/clean-side?

What's the benefit from this clean-side inlet for the catchcan?

The catch can is installed in line with the dirty side between the valley cover and intake manifold. The oil filler breather takes the place of the clean side vacuum hose to the throttle body. Hope this helps!

Got you. But: If the catchcan is inline with the dirty side and the clean side can be sealed with a rubber cab - why do the even make a clean side inlet on the catchcan?

I just want to know the purpose of this inlet before I seal it.

You don't cap anything on the catchcan. There are two distinct different lines. There is a dirty air line going into the intake, this is where the catch can goes, inline with that. Then there is a separate clean air line, that is what gets capped at both ends, and the breather installed.
