Moving to New Hampshire!

Its official, I signed my lease and made my security deposit on a brand new condo in Dover! I move in in July. Smell ya later Mass, LIVE FREE OR DIE!

Anyone on here in the Dover/Portsmouth area?

Also I have a few questions about registering my vehicles in NH:
I have a '74 Chevy K10 and I was looking into registering it as an antique when I transfer it to NH. The process seems straight forward from what I found on the DMV website and it should save me quite a bit of money. BUT, in Mass antique plates have driving restrictions on them (which is why I never registered it as an antique here in MA.) Does NH have any kind of driving restrictions on antique plates or could I drive an antique everyday if I wanted?

No restrictions that I am aware of...l've had antique plates on my olds for since I've had it.

Best part is you get a two year inspection sticker...meaning you inspect it this year and not again till 2015

They may have restrictions but long as your not leaking fluid and dropping parts NH Troopers and city police won't bother you.

This truck is currently undergoing a frame off resto, its definitely not a junker. So hopefully I won't have any problems.

Directly from the NHDMV

http://www.dmv.org/nh-new-hampshire/...Antique-Plates

Antique Plates
New Hampshire defines an antique vehicle as one that's more than 25 years old and used only for parades, exhibitions, car club activities, and other public events.

You must begin the application process through your town clerk. After filing the proper forms, you'll then be instructed to complete the transaction at the main DMV office in Concord.

Fees:

Vehicle: $6 per year and $8 for an initial plate
Motorcycle: $2.40 per year and $4 for an initial plate

It says "other public events", which means anything....I've had them for years I used to put a few thousand miles a year on my Olds, never an issue.

You will have no problem

Thanks!

I just talked to my cousin who lives in Manchvegas. He talked directly to someone at the dmv about antique plates and they said I'd have no problem driving an antique every day if I wanted. And you can't go wrong with $8 for initial plates and $6 a year after that

So anyone on here in the Dover area?

I'll often drive through dover with trips to portsmouth. I spend a decent amount of time and weekends in barnstead, alton, wolfeboro, ossipee area.

My parents have a house on Ossipee Lake in Freedom. I spend a lot of weekends up there during the summer too. We'll have to set up a summer get together or cruise

I am in the Manchester area. Not that far to Dover. My sister lives in Dover.
I have a cousin in Ossippee too, really nice up that way. I go to visit whenever I can. He has 25 acres of land and I always enjoy visiting him.

Never been to the Pizza Barn though I pass it on my way up. What about the Whitier House (its just been redone into a brew house but I can't remember the new name.)
