According to two people above it will work for Hill assist as well.

My answer to that question would be, the skip shift eliminator saves you time and the hassle of having to first see the 1-4 skip shift on the DIC then have to press the Clear button, all while shifting and paying attention to the road.

But hey free is nice if the above example doesn't bother you
