Towing Trailer With My Camaro

Hello, I wanted to see if anyone has towed a trailer with their Camaro? If so what did you tow, what was the weight and how did it do? Im thinking about towing my golf cart to a golf course this weekend with my ZL1 since it has a tow hitch. I just dont want to do anything stupid and mess it up. I know it has a 1000 pound towing compactly and the cart plus trailer is at about that or slightly under. Let me know what you guys have experienced. Thank You!

Full disclaimer...I have never attempted to tow anything with my Camaro. However, the first thing you may want to check is the hitch class rating you have. For example, Class 1 hitches are usually rated for Gross Trailer Weights up to 2,000 lbs.

You may also want to check the owner's manual. I did a quick search and found someone once posted this:

Go to uhaul, rent a pickup for pretty cheap(Around town rates for a day are very reasonable) tow your trailer, leave your ZL1 in the garage. Trucks are for towing, Camaros are not.
This is one of those laying with your sister moments, just because you can certainly doesn’t mean you should.

Wow someone installed a trailer hitch on a ZL1...and the OP bought it?

I would of took a hard pass unless it was a 50% off deal

Pulled a T@B trailer from So Cal to Yellowstone and the car never complained. It was a little less than 2000lbs I think.
