Ok, here goes my theory. The IBM is a interim color for the 2012 Camaro. Well ordering ends on 1/5/2012 for the Transformers edition. Thus ending the first quarter, so the IBM my not be available after 1/5/12 for any Camaro.

So please offer another blue, other than Supersonic blue and that new light blue (

) on the Corvette. Something like Jet stream blue or Royal Blue or just continue with the IBM!

Had some lengthy discussions today with my sales guy and his general manager both over the phone with some emails exchanged post with the general manager. All was around selecting a new color before this Thursday so my order can go in. At one point I even asked if I could order a 2012 SS in Imperial Blue to which he said yes, just not the ZL1. Final email I got after suggesting that I would be willing to be bumped to their second allocation in the possibility I might be able to get blue later was this, "The information came from my GM field rep who has been with the company for 29 years. I am 99 percent sure that color will not be available for the ZL1."

So this week I'm canceling one of my orders and I guess changing the other to Ashen Gray before Thursday. I'm having a difficult time not thinking this is a sign to slow down on trying to get a ZL1 the way I would like it. I wish we could get some insight from Fbodfather...

Thats not good news for the blue fans. did you find out if there was going to be another blue option? Im very sure they will be offering a blue in some sort. I cant think of a time that Camaro has not had a blue option. Why would they decide to start with the ZL1?

The Camaro Team wants to update you on Imperial Blue Metallic and the availability issue surrounding that color on the ZL1 and other Camaros --

Because Camaro shares a common body and paint shop with several other vehicle lines at Oshawa, we must abide by decisions that affect more than just Camaro - and thus Imperial Blue Metallic will be discontinued very shortly. Offering it for only a week or so on the ZL1 is not practical as it would require paint re-validation for ZL1-unique components such as bumper fascias. Crystal Red Tintcoat will be available to order shortly.

We will have further information as to order cut-off dates for LS, LT, and SS models in Imperial Blue Metallic very shortly.

I have inside knowledge (through my dealership who has connections to Camaro Racing Division) that the LT/SS Imperial blue will last for orders through January. After that, sometime in February, it will disappear and IBM orders will be rejected.

It will be replaced by a light (slate blueish) blue.
