Camaro SS Axle Back Exhaust from MRT Performance

Last week I had an axle back exhaust system installed on my 2SS/RS LS3 that was recently developed by a local performance shop called MRT Performance. The system replaces the stock mufflers with 2 Aero Exhaust 2 1/2" resonators. It was a very simple install with cuts right after the IRS and before the trunk well. They are just finishing their fixtures and are waiting on parts from Aero Exhaust. This project started with the development of member "SCRMING's" V6 system (See his thread in V6 forum). He hooked me up with these guys and they validated their design on the SS model using my car. MRT is a great company. Their owner Scott is very knowledgeable and experienced. I know they are going to price this system right and the quality is awesome. These guys are good at what they do. All fabrication takes place in-house. Totally 304 SS system, chrome 3 1/2" tips all welded with one band clamp joint.

I have some video clips below. I hope this works (first timer with posting videos). The sound of the car is night and day over the stock system. It's just right for me. I now can here my car when another "muscle" car pulls up next to me. It is also not obnoxiously loud. I think these videos tell the story. I love the system.

Yeah, price please! Do they offer 4" tips too?
It looks like there are no A6's with this setup yet. I really want to hear it on an A6, totally different sound with the mi-pipe resonator.

Sounds great! Almost sounds like a mix of Corsa and Borla, and I was torn between which of those 2 to get, but this system sounds amazing. How much did this run you?

I talked with Scott about the pricing on this system. The kit will be listing for $499... HOWEVER, he is going to have an introductory price of $439!

As for the 4 inch tips, Scott told me he is looking into that... he needs to find a tip that will meet his standards, and will need to setup a second fixture to build kits with 4 inch tips... Now this is just me thinking out loud.. but a larger tip would mean more material which in my mind means a bit more money... so I'm making the assuming that the pricing on a 4 inch tip kit would possibly higher priced... pure speculation on my part...

BTW... a bit more info on Scott Hoag and MRT i posted the other day:

Just got home and listened with the headphones... WOW! Sounds great! Looking forward to hearing your car in person!!!

one minor thing... tips are not chrome...

Custom MRT designed 3-1/2" diameter 304 Stainless Steel rolled tips.

also hope you don't mind... Here are a few more pics of the tips on my car...

Make sure to click on the picture to view full size!

The tip ends do have a slight slash cut to them...

The interior sound is perfect. Really no drone unless you lug the engine. It's loud when you want it to be but still quiet when it needs to be.
