New ZL1 Build, Whats your thoughts on list
1. Roto Fab Cold Air Kit
2. ZL1 Custom Heat Exchanger with dual fans 3. Metco Motorsports 9.1" lower pulley ( includes innovators west damper) 4. Metco Motorsports 2.5" blower pulley 5. Cam 6. .675 lift double valve spring kit with Ti Retainers 7. Comp cam pushrods 8. 160 degree thermostat 9. solid isolater 10. Kooks 1 7/8" headers with Catted Connection pipe 11. Metco 50 MM Idler pulley 12. Blower belt 13. Ported mouth, ported blower, snout, throttle body 14. MSD wires and NGK TR7IX spark plugs 15. Alky Control Meth injection kit 16. ID 850 fuel Injectors I`m hoping for over 700rwhp with this set-up. I have a Auto! What do you guys think about this set-up? Please share your input to me before I start this....The wife loves driving this car so It needs to be drivable for her to enjoyed.. She isn`t happy with me on this, after my build with the 01 WS6 she couldn`t drive it anymore because of the huge cam and being a auto it surged a little and ran rich for the 200 shot I had on it...

okay my .02 on your list. if you going to pull your snout and port it run the 2.35 upper pulley.
then you don't have to run the expensive inovators west stuff. you could just run the ATI lower with say 8.6 ring or just say hey maybe 15psi is good enough and save even more. this will save you $2-300. you will not need the idler if you do this. I would not run the meth kit IMO washes off the coating on the rotors. if you going to spend that money run the rx/ciller. with the RX chiller you just always have good temps not much more money. the money you saved ati vs inovators west will cover it. if you want drivablitly I would think about hooking up with a supplier that will make it drivable. Get specs from them. HP goals are nice but 15hp vs less drivable when on stock rubber you will just burn them down any way is not worth it.

Grab a 90mm tb.
My guess 650hp on a safe tune. |

You can use stock blower and pick up ported heads instead.. you could port the snout and do a NW102mm... dont see it making over 700rwhp but it will make good power...make sure you have a good tuner...who is doing the work? You can pm me if you want..

I had a very similar build just done on my car which is an auto. I didn't have the blower ported, just the snout and throttle body and I don't have meth. But other than that very similar as you can see in my signature.

How do you like the power? Does the car sound just right and no driving issues? With the power your making looks like a beast!

The power is awesome. More power than traction. It is sitting in the garage waiting for warmer weather right now. It was about 40* out when I brought it home and had to take it easy because it wanted to break loose if I eased it past 1/2 throttle. The exhaust sounds awesome! Once you start getting into the boost the exhaust really wakes up. The car drives like stock with no issues and it has a bigger cam.

Unless I missed it, you're leaving the heads alone. If that's true, your cam might be a little larger than needed.
Now if you are doing something to get the heads to flow better and your TB is a 102, then upgrade the fuel pump, bump to 2" on the primaries and you should be at your 700wrhp number. I stayed with 1 7/8 primaries on mine and it makes the torque hit hard and early. Nice on the street but if drag racing, I'm always shifting above the meaty part of my torque. My opinion based on my build. Good luck! |

I`m realistic on the power, wishing for 700 rwhp but see most are getting around 650-675rwhp with auto`s. I`m hoping the methanol gets me a little more. You can see on G-Force web site they have several CTS-V making awesome power and fast! I trust mike and crew with my baby for sure! We will see by next friday if things go well what power we have! We shall SEE!
