I'm fairly certain this will fit a v6 bumper as well but I would get another opinion to be sure

It'll only fit if it's a RS or SS front fascia.

RS bumper is the same as the V6. The V8 fascia is flatter from the front lip. The v6 has a contour to it. They are very different. I installed the SS fascia on my last 5gen car. The grill is also wider on the SS model.

Am interested. I have a couple of questions though, since I am a noob:
1. What is typically the purpose of a splitter? Aerodynamics or styling?
2. What is the material of the splitter? Is it fragile/does it handle small scrapes well?

1. I believe it's to create down-force at the front of the vehicle.

2. I'm not certain of the material (plastic?), but it doesn't handle scrapes well.

its function and style, main purpose is function.

it is a hard plastic, scrapes will show on the bottom and stay out of sight but if you run it into something like a tall curb its gonna hurt it will noticeably damage it
