Decided to bite the bullet and buy ARH long tubes. Quick question.
Greetings. I have decided to go with American Racing Headers as my choice for long tubes. I was torn between 1 7/8 and 2 inch, particularly being a '13 and having electric power steering. Will the 2 inch cause any issues with anything because it's a '13? I've put down the deposit and they will be ordered soon, but I do have time to decide whether or not I want 1 7/8 or 2 inch beforehand.
I plan on taking my car on autocross, road racing, and perhaps a little drag racing(not much at all really). Also, I plan on either going with a Brian Tooley stage 3 or 4 cam in the future and/or a blower, which will be years down the road. Not quite sure which blower to go with, but that's another thread for another day. Clearance issues with 2 inch? I've heard not many people have had many issues with clearance with bumps and I don't plan on lowering my car since it has the 1LE track pack on it and wouldn't want to jeopardize much of the handling. The 2 inch headers do make a little more power and that's nice, but was just concerned about clearance both over bumps and fitment. I also chose ARH because I keep hearing good stories about their quality craftsmanship and good customer service. I also have the Corsa ZL1 3" cat back as well, so I can't imagine how wild this thing would sound with 2" headers as well.

1 7/8 Unless you plan on FI in the future for full power. The 1 7/8 is fine for a street warrior.

Agree, 1-7/8" is your ticket. No major gains with 2"

Ah okay. I'll probably switch to 1 7/8. I looked at blowers down the road, but again that won't be for another 5-6 years. More than likely going heads and a cam or something and thought the 2" would be a good even if it was just a tad more expensive. Horsepower goal would probably be 600rwhp or at the most ever 650, but then that may be too much. Thanks!

I don't think 2 inches sound any different either
