The lines for the ZL1 are different than your SS lines. You can get backing plates from Amazon for like 13 bucks ea. There's a good thread in the 1LE section about the vented pistons, I ordered them through www.Iamgmparts.com 120 a set. An I bought a set of OEM pads with 30 miles on them from www.corvetteforum.com for 65 bucks so scour the forums. Some things you'll more than likely have to buy new.

so i would have to get OE ZL1 lines or find SS braided ZL1 lines

i see the talk about ZL1 vs Corvette

so if i read this correctly are they vented on the corvette and not on the ZL1 and i dont see pistons seperately

and ok cool good price on pads

Yes the you need ZL1 lines the are longer than the SS lines. The Corvete Caliper for the Z06 Non Ceramic brakes use the vented pistons good for a 80 degree drop. The PN for the pistons are in the thread I linked just have to read through it.

I have a 15 1ss 1le and I didn't have to swap the backing plate. As olblue said you will need new ZL1 specific lines. And if you can, get the vented pistons. I'm running vented pistons in mine and have had no problems, but a buddy with stock pistons boiled his fluid during fest at NCM.

so ive been reading around and apparently the Corvette Z06 for 2015 calipers are the same as ZL1 just have the vented pistons

so if ive read everything correctly the Z06 caliper would bolt straight on and i could use either a ZL1 front rotor or Z06 rotor?

ive found brand new front calipers for a Z06 400 each

backing plates are only 16 each

so far
if everything im understanding is correct

get the Z06 calipers
ZL1 backing plates
ZL1 lines
ZL1 or Z06 rotors
Z06 pads with hardware
but what mounting bolts? Z06 bolts?

Pretty sure you can't use the Z06 rotors it's a off set issue on the hat.
Z06 Pads on steel rotors are the same as the ZL1 pads.
I think all the bolts are the same Z06, ZL1, or CTS-V.
ZL1 Rotors are about 250 a piece new you can use CTS-V rotor about 125 a piece.

I think you got it and don't forget DOT 4 brake fluid. There's a thread on here about a DOT 4 Cap too.

Question for everyone out there

for the V/Z06 brake upgrade

does it clear the factory 20 inch silver wheel from the 1ss or does it require the 1LE wheel?

I figure it would clear and I shouldn't have issues

im just making sure before I go and buy a set of wheels that clear the factory brakes

If your running 20s you'll be good I was running the 2010-13 RS wheel without issue but have changed to the 6th Gen 1LE wheel.
