its possible, but i cant see why they would bother to remove the sleeve around the steering column and plug it in...will have to check some morning when its not hot enough to fry an egg on the pavement.you really think they would do that?

Most definitely. Actually it's a "safety" issue. You can turn off the ignition, remove the key and lock the steering wheel while hustling down the highway. They don't want to be at fault in the event of an accident.

If it was the dealer that did The blend doors, I’m sure if they noticed it un plugged they “took care of it for you” that’s a liability on there end if they don’t.

+1
I’d bet Aqua is right on the money with that.

almost directly over the gas pedal.one plug.with your car running, set the blend door where you want it(3 clicks from the left seems to be preferred, but make sure it gets cold enough)unplug while the car is still running and youre good...but you will have no heat this winter.living in florida id rather have cold air.

you have to remove the plastic sleeve on the steering column,4 screws and a little prying will take it off.theres only 3 wires with plugs you can get to.one of them fixes the key issue, another one will cause the car not to crank, and dont know about the 3rd one cause i got it right on on the second try.the issue is a switch on the shifter out of adjustment.had it replaced once by the dealer under warranty which would have been a $400 job otherwise.when it happened again the next year i was out of warranty and damned if i wanted to pay 400 bucks yearly.i believe that the dealer plugged the wire back in for me when they replaced the evaporator as it could be a liability issue for them,so in about 2 weeks after i get the oil changed i will do it again and hope they dont notice after that and "fix" it again...

Yeah, I agree with Aqua Blue. If they noticed it they are likely obliged to 'fix' it for you.

If they did reconnect it, then good on them, right? I know it's a PITA to have to un-fix it again, but would be cool to know at least one dealer out of thousands care. (Care = covering their butts, who are we kidding here?)
