lol, yep, makes the car a whole different animal for sure!! And ya better know how to drive, that's for sure because the computer can't read your mind!! When it is wet out to any degree I leave the nannies ON for safety sake..

Some misinformation in this thread about getting into competitive mode. Be careful out there guys.
Care to explain the misinformation or correctly state the procedure?

If I am driving on the street, I just leave the nannies in place in case I do something stupid. How the rest of the settings work, I could not tell you.
Curiosity made me read something about it.

If I understood correctly, the first press - will turn off the traction control, but the stabilization system will still be active.
The second press also switches off the stabilization system.

And holding the button for 8 seconds turns off the "rest" of the assistants.
I just wonder what the "rest" is.

I believe the double press for competitive mode allows more slide but doesn't completely kill stabilitrak, it will still interfere at extremes. Push and hold turns it off completely.

Kinda, the first press, and only if you press it ONCE, it turns off the traction control only and you can "lightem up" like a pro! And stibilitrac stays active so you can't spin out, the computer will apply braking to which ever wheel is stipping when it senses it, Push it 2 times after you start the car and it turns off stabilitrac only totally and leaves the traction control "active" so you can do some heavy cornering without the computer interferring, but the computer will control your forward wheel spin so you have traction off the corners. After you first start the car and you hold the button down for 8-10 secs it turns off ALL the nannies and you are on your own!!!! And like I said, you really need to know your cars limits, AND yours because the computer WILL NOT interfere with your driving, you're on your own!! At least that is how my L99 tunned operates, and did stock as well.

Nah, when it is off, it is off. When I was first playing with it way back when and I disabled the stabilitrac and traction control and was in a huge parking lot, I had NO control of the car what so ever, it did whatever it wanted to without any interference or assistance from the computer or ABS...

Was launch control offered in early 5th gens? I thought that feature wasn't more common until late 2011 early 2012?

It's on my 2010, or at least prior to changing the tune, it would not rev past 4k if you held the clutch down in gear.

On my 2010. It held at 4.5k. I may have launched once or twice. Use CTAP now.
