I wouldn't buy anything but a Z28 over an SS RS. That's what I want. If they don't come out with Z28 then I will buy a used 2010, S/C it and be done. I would have no payments. Screw HP edition without Z28 name.

Personally, I'd love for GM to hold off on using the Z/28 name until the 6th gen. Due to the fact the I won't be able to purchase another auto till then. I just bought the 2010 and now it's the wife's turn to buy. And she won't entertain the thought of anything other than a Jeep. I'll have the 2010 paid off in 2013, just it time (hopefully) for the Alpha platform Z/28. But, I know that'll leave a bunch of people pissed.

I can live with that concept. After all... The original RPO Z28 was Special Performance Package. Perhaps, GM can make a new Special Performance Package on the Alpha platform with Corvette C7 engine in three years time. That would be cool... and it would be "Special" indeed.

HP Edition... just doesn't sound as impressive. I don't see anything "special" if it is just High Performance. We can call HP Edition... Z/27.

btw: Does any one know why there is a "/" between Z and 28?

I'm surprised at the number of people who would NOT buy if it wasn't called a Z28. Seriously, GM is about to give us a hoss of a perfomance machine and some of you guys are whining about the name. We not talking about performance we talkin about the name, not horse power but the name. Not about torque or handling but the name. Is the name that important?

It would seem so.

I was thinking why does it even have to have a name? It could be a trim level (3SS) let's say exept it can be the only trim level with magnetic ride suspension and the standard engine(LSA, LS9) only available in that trim level. Or just make it a SS-V since more than half of the damn car will be shared with the CTS-V?

That sounds possible.

One thing for sure... We got a bunch of passionate Camaro followers on the site. At the end of the day... I think GM can count on the forum members to buy a car from them. Camaro is one success story of the great "GM Revival" history for sure.

Abstaining from voting, because I wouldn't be able to afford it no matter what its called. Hell, I can't even afford an LS.

However, I don't care what GM names it as long as it kicks some snake arse.
