I used to drag race A LOT! The past 3 times I've been drag racing have been such a chore, for so little actual enjoyment. Sit there for 8 hours for 3-4 passes. Some idiot oils down the track and you wait, and wait, and wait some more.

IMHO, you are simply wasting the fantastic engineering they put into the 5th gen and 6th gen Camaro by simply going straight. These cars are a blast to turn corners with! 1 day at an autocross will give you so much seat time, and so much adrenaline, you'll wish you'd done it sooner. You'll get 6-7 passes (each pass is roughly 40-50 seconds depending on the course design), and if you're a Novice driver, you'll have instructors available to ride shotgun with you for every run. You'll also be invited for a few passes in an instructors car with you riding shotgun to show you the ropes.

I've raced at both, Empire and Lancaster. Pretty sure Lancaster is over with.

I was at Anderson's back then. I had a maroon 91 Z28. There were packs of Mustang's back then. Maybe 20 years now that I think about it.
