Hood adjustments?

Hello again C5,

I have a small problem with the hood of the car.
Is there a way to adjust the hieght of the hood when it is closed?
The sides of the hood are right but the center front is to low.

I know on older cars you could adjust it.

Pop your hood and you'll see the bumpers (I guess that's the word). They're black and believe there are four. They screw in and can be backed off as needed to level the hood. Hope that helps!

garcmol is correct. The bumpers sit right under where the hood rests just above the radiator.

Thanks I tried that but they are either to high (won't allow hood to latch) or still to low.

Sounds like the latch needs to be finessed a bit. It does not look adjustable, two bolts mounting it. But maybe a good body guy good figure out a way to fudge it up a bit. I'd let the dealer's body shop look at it.

I took a look at mine. You should have some play in the latch if you loosen the mounting bolts. How low is your hood?
If you want to do it yourself, I would make sure that you know the torque spec on the bolts before you loosen them. It's part of your front impact safety equipment.

You have one of the best fabricators/painters just down the street from you. Well, at least the same location. PM Gary's Customs, he may be able to assist you owner to owner!

Its about 1/4" low in the very front. But to make it confusing either side driver/passenger sides of the hood are even.

That's a good idea too.
The dealer is going to look at it after the holidays. It even confused them when they took a quick look.

Your hood is probably right but the front bumper is off. There are 2 hex head bolts by the hood latch that will move the bumper up and down. There are also gray shims under the six push pins that hold the bumper top on (for fine adjustment). I discovered this when installing the Nite Rider LED bar. Adjust the 2 hex head bolts very slowly and recheck the hood alignment with the bumper. If these hex head bolts are mistakenly tightened down (like I did) the front bumper will be about 1/4 inch higher than the front of the hood.
