inner tie rods
what are those washers for? I do not see any of those installed on the stock inner tie rods.

They look like a lock washer, they go behind the inner tie rod and you bend them into the flat section near the ball. This prevents the assembly unscrewing its self.

Yeah, they are a lock washer. I did mine, and they didn't come with those.

As already stated they are lock washers and the tabs are bent once everything is screwed in and installed. Depending on the vehicle, and the manufacturers design of the tie rods, they may or may not come with them (usually the cheaper aftermarket ones do while quality ones don't).

If the ones you bought came with them, I would use them if I was doing it. The stock ones not having them could just mean they was manufactured differently and designed to not need them where as the aftermarket ones do.

I've never used thread-locker on them, and I have never had one come loose. I have had well over 15 cars, and I took them off, and put new ones on. None of them had lock washers, and I didn't use a thread locker. I did my inners and outers last summer, no thread locker or lock washers. They're still on.. |
