TSP 229/236 cam installed - stall question
Hey guys,
Just installed TSP's 229/236 cam on my LS3. Love the torque of this cam and feels like it pulls through the whole range. Anyway, for some reason when am coming back to an idle after light load, it wants to stall out. For example, If I am driving around my neighborhood at 25 mph and then releasing the clutch as I prepare to make a turn, it will want to stall out. Any thoughts on what to look for in the tune? Already raised the idle, so its better once its gets to a balanced idle, but still intermittenly wants to stall on coasting. Thanks |

Make sure you aren't dumping a ton of fuel. You could have it running to rich.

my buddy did it. I busted the trans cooler fitting in the process of reinstall so we were more focused on that. Just did a quick tune. We're going to do a new tune tonight, just wanted to see if anyone had a similar scenario so we don't have to search through 5000 tables to figure out the issue.

Base running airflow, idle speed around 750-800, make sure fuel trims are right and timing is right.

I didn't know the LS3 had a trans cooler.

I was curious about that too as I don't think a trans cooler is really necessary on a manual car. Unless your doing road racing.

actually got the idle pretty much figured out. There were some coast idle tables that we missed. Driving aronud town is good now, only had it stall once when I was on the highway and took it up to about 6000 at WOT and then let off. As the rpm comes back down from that high, it wants to stall unless I give it a couple of revs on the way down. Interesting feeling having a car stall going 65 mph...
