G8 GXP LS3 rated at 415 hp

Ok, how is the automatic version of the G8 GXP more powerful than the Camaro SS L99 Auto??

they use the actual LS3 and auto trans and still get 23 mpg Highway but it says nothing about AFM.

I would like for some of the know-it-alls to chime in on this please..

If my memory serves me correctly from what I've read the GXP gets about 19-20 hwy and has the gas guzzler tax.

It doesn't have the AFM or VVT parts. The VVT should give the camaro a different power curve and torque curve, when compared to the LS3.

Aerodynamics and gearing play a big roll in hwy mpg.

The g8 is pretty much the same car as the camaro. I suspect other than weight it will be about the same performance wise. it does have better gearing though.

At a basic level the Camaro is a two door G8 (additionally both are updated versions of the Holden/Zeta design used on the 04-06 GTO). This is quite similiar to how the Challenger is a two door Charger, except GM isn't upcharging the Camaro to niche market levels like Dodge did with the Challenger.

Check your thread title, you've already answered your own question G8 GXP LS3. The L99 isn't (quite) an LS3.

GTO wasn't on the Zeta platform.
