Going through the traps
I have a 2013 1SS 6spd. The only mod done is a CAI Intake and fuse pull on the dual mode mufflers. I have ran the car a few times at Atlanta Dragway with a best time of 12.8 at 111 with a 2.08 60ft. The problem is I hit the rev limiter at the top of 3rd right before I go through the traps. My time would be a few tenths quicker if this didnt happen. I tried to short shift a few gears to get the car into 4th but my time and mph suffer. The car definitely needs a gear. Does anyone else experience this?
The first video is me running the 12.8 and staying in 3rd. The second video is me shifting into 4th right before the traps and getting 13.0 at 110. My wife was recording and cut the videos short of the times. She said they wouldn't show clear. Ill post slips as soon as I get home. Last edited by strokerls1; 10-22-2012 at 10:21 AM. |

you can have the limiter tuned off or bumped up, but a gear change will cause an extra shift, which will also eat up the clock.

I see what you are saying, but I figure a gear change you give me more mph and help my time some. Does the LS3 continue to make power past the factory redline? It does feel like it falls off a little right before I hit the limiter. Maybe its just me though

I went from a 3.27 to a 3.73, I'm not sure what gear you should go to from the 3.45.

Like right before, 50 feet something like that?
I don't think you'd pick really any ET grabbing 4th and MPH-wise maybe a little bit. It's counter-intuitive but do any of the MN6 guys ever just coast that little bit? I'm modded and tuned and I tried higher shift points to finish the 1/4 in 3rd (A6) and my car didn't like it. I was well past where I make peak HP.

2013s can have that optional NPP exhaust, might be limited to just MN6 cars? The 2013s also all have the electric power steering stock.
