The passenger side piece and drivers side piece is really easy to remove. I just updated my dash to the 2012 style, and added the suede insert with red stitching. I hope I don't get bubbling on that.

So anyhow, you remove the side panels on the dash. Reach in from behind and pinch the first clip for the dash while pulling. Get that trim off. Remove the 2 - 3 7mm bolts. You should also pull the gauge trim out a bit, then pull the passenger piece off. It is merely clipped into place.

Once that is out you need to unscrew the center duct then reinstall it on the new dash piece.

It may take longer if the dealer pulls the HVAC controls out.

I'm not sure why you'd want pictures. You know what it is supposed to look like, well that's what it looks like.

Also, tell your dealer to look up PIC5718C. The PIC stands for Preliminary Information Bulletin so perhaps there isn't a TSB yet.

If they look that up or if you print out the details from the link posted earlier and they deny it, find a new dealer or demand to speak to a new rep. You'll get your way.

It makes no sense for them to deny a problem when Chevy will be paying the cost of the part and labor. The dealer will be reimbursed from Chevy and the total cost to you is $0.00.

Repaired

Just got my dash repaired under the new fix and it looks great again!!! Now to keep an eye on it and see if it holds up!!! I was only at my dealer for 45 minutes. They took it back and returned in 45 minutes.

The dash does not get replaced with the new fix, Just the leather assembly that goes around the center A/C vents.

The part is not new. It is the same part but the manufacturing defect has been fixed. There is no different "fit" or "finish" it is the same minus that ugly bubble, but for your convenience I have some before and after pictures attached.

Besides what I mentioned above on your dealer call Chevy direct and give your dealer some feedback via that route. I've been to two dealers about this issue and both immediately pulled up the information provided in this forum (PIC) with zero problems. If your 2012 is under warranty, it will be covered.

Also, if you don't mind me asking: Is that your black Camaro in your sig? I like the headlights/side signals look, what are they?
