I am going there now. I hope I don't have to be unpleasant.

I've been first on the list since February when I requested that a list be made. I've gone in every month and made myself known.

I also know how to disseminate information that would make for very bad press for this dealership if they don't honor their commitment to me which was reaffirmed every time I went in. When I walked through the door I was told, "Yes, you are first for a ZL1" - before I had to ask after the first couple of times.

I was told they are only getting ONE in the initial round, so here's hope that they do the right thing.

.

I hope it works out for you.

Thanks Guys,

My stomach is in knots, but I managed not to strangle the life out of anyone at Mission Chevy in El Paso an hour ago.

After being reassured that I was first, and seeing MSRP as a note in their paperwork beside my name and number, the GM told me this morning that, " Yes you're first, but we are going to put the first two on the showroom floor and sell them at whatever market value develops. These are special vehicles and may sell for ten thousand or more over MSRP, so from a business standpoint, we just can't sell you the first one at MSRP."

I asked if the word of his employees was worth anything.

I reminded him that I have been in checking on this every month since last February when they made the list at my request.

I mentioned that while I didn't want to, that it is entirely possible that I might generate more than ten thousand dollars worth of bad press if they don't honor their word.

I will be writing to corporate HQ tonight.

If anyone knows of an open allocation at (or near) MSRP, please PM me.

.

I too am totally upset how dealers lie to you knowing that you will be screwed. Their suppose to know the business, why don't they let you know up front. Recent introduction of the Z06, ZR1, Camaro, Pace Car and now the ZL1, tell me they didn't try to get a ADM on each . My dealer friend was telling me he would find out on MSRP but never got back.

When I need some new company vehicles I won't feel bad going to another dealer.
I now don't want to give his dealer my parts business either.

Actually they do, but they are in business to make sales on cars sitting at the lot and believe it or not they are pretty much occupied with doing that. We have to give them the benefit of the doubt.

After my rounds of the dealer today I hate to say that all of them are now realizing that they can sit on the golden egg until they get paid,,,,I was in the same position as you were and now I am being told they are going to have a meeting next week about markup.

Now that's a rumor I can believe. Did I miss something or is it from a source you prefer not to mention?

I assume the Mr Ed reference is a play off of the horses mouth saying and not Ed Welburn

I also had been checking with Mission since June, and I was made well aware there would be a mark up. So I will wait till they sell all the ones they want at market value and get mine at msrp or below.

I dunno anymore, called my dealer a few days ago sounds like everything is cool so far. Gave him my credit card number (out of state dealer), was charged but never could reach him to get my 6 digit code . I will call Monday, but I guess I'm in the same boat with everyone else just have to hope every thing works out the way we hope. I'll call on Monday, but what the heck had my share of the brewski's and I'll chill for a bit. Cheers everyone will have are Zl1's before you know it! Oh and i secured my plate that I really wanted this week so i'm psyched

Don't they realize that it is us the enthusiast that wants these cars???
Hardly anyone else?? And by us wanting them like "yesterday" we are the ones they are trying to sit on the golden egg so they wait and get markup.
Do like I did...order the darn thing and worry about it when the time comes...NOT now... How can you charge over MSRP when the dealers do not even FR(*(*&**(**(*(*U ING know how much MSRP IS????

I am fully prepared to walk if need be. AT ANYTIME I CHOOSE. And WAIT till the next opportunity..
Just the way it is. They are there to sell cars bottom line. Not to make themselves self made millionaires over night....
Always remember this....shit rolls down hill......
What goes around WILL come back around.... Be nice to people..
Treat them with RESPECT.... and DON'T STEAL from them. Dealers included.
Dealers you that over price these cars 5k to 10k over MSRP in this economy OUGHT to be ashamed of yourselves!
And that my friend is being positive!
