Question 1LS-2LS Performance Question?

Hey All,

I had a Q on my mind kind of a silly one though but before you laugh .. here it goes :

Can a 1LS-2LS be hooked up with performance stuff just like an LT?
:P

is there any performance issues when it comes to hook up an LS version?

thanks lol

What do you mean by performance stuff?? like aftermarket parts??
I think you need to elaborate more in your question. LS and LT is pretty much apperance packages. But the engine in all 5th Gen Camaro V6 prior to 2012 is the same LLT. so i dont see any difference or issues you can run into putting performance stuff (aftermarket parts) to yout LS.

+1 ...the LS is an appearance package just like the 1LT and 2LT trim levels, but the LLT is the motor for 2010-11 models. there are also LS & LT versions of the transmission, so i can see how that can be a bit confusing also. it really depends on your year model is as they changed motors for the 2012 and went to the LFX motor.

like Wuiquen said, more details would help. are you looking to just add CAI and exhaust or do you want twin turbos? 2012 aftermarket parts are starting to come around, but the biggest issue i believe so far is the lack of header support. hopefully somebody else can chime in on tuning options for 2012 also. good luck...

You can put things like the ported throttle body, CAI, ice-olator, etc. on your car, OP!

I'm obviously still learning because I had no idea the transmissions were different from LS to LT. Fill me in, guys; what's different?

That's what I thought... the difference is the 118mph speed limiter on the LS because of the wheels/tires, and the 155 speed limiter on the LLT.

i haven't done much research into it, but what about tap shift? isn't tap shift and sport mode an upgraded option with the 2LT package?

nevermind, just saw that the 6 speed tap shift is available on the 2LS model. LS being the base model with manual transmission and 2LS being automatic w/ tap shift

I guess - but I like the idea that I can save a few hundo because my car already has a big tube coming out of the head. On the LFX, we only have to worry about exhaust starting at the cats -- one less big item to purchase.
