Camaro V6 16MPG
Hey everyone I have a question I drive about 45 miles daily in the city and get about 16MPG. I recently brought it up to a Facebook group full of v6 camaros and most say they average over 20+ MPG with about the same distance I travel daily. Could there be something wrong with my car? I have a 2014 LS

+1 on driving habits. Fully stock, I was pulling about 24 MPG average. After mods, I'm far more aggressive with the RPMs and run about 20 MPG average (closer to 17 if it's pure city driving).

My commuting mileage went down about 3 mpg when I changed to 3.91 gears. From 22 to 19 mpg. Part of that is from the increased rpm's, and part is from increased enjoyment of the rate of accleration.

What kind of gas are you using? My MPG went up 2-3 MPG with Airaid CAI. Mixed driving I have been averaging 22-23 running premium (E10 winter blend) with occasional outbursts of WOT and other nonsense.

I just noticed you said "city" driving. That's probably about right for straight city driving. My freeway miles (about half) bring my average way up.

Sounds about right. I was getting between 15-21 in my RS, depending on driving style and get about 17-19 in my Traverse with the 3.6. I don't think anything's wrong with your car. City stop and go kills it.

The mileage on my V6 was not very good when it was new -- probably in the 16 mpg range for city driving. Now that it's hit 8500 miles I get 23-24 city and highway combined running regular gas. Hard to say why your is so low, but city driving (only) kills your mileage.

If you are looking at the average on your middle gauge, try resetting it by holding down the button on the end of the stalk. You'll see it start over at what you are currently averaging and you'll see crazy inflated or low numbers until it levels out after a couple of minutes. It might be that low because it takes idling into account and it'll show if you haven't refreshed it. Just a thought because 17 MPG confused me one time until I refreshed
