Do I need 90-day standard maintenance?

Bought new 2013 1LT in February and my local Chevy dealer sent me an email regarding booking an appointment to bring in the car for 'standard maintenance.' And I should schedule an appt. every 90 days. Will I be charged for this? I haven't called yet and I will ask them if it's a free service but if I have the warranty am I covered for this? Thanks

Look at your owner's manual.

What needs to be done after 90 days?

your dealer is just trying to drain your wallet, the owner's manual doesn't say anywhere that you need service every 90 days.

Absolutely no need to take it in for anything at this point.

Standard maintenance is more so the owner's responsibility. Your warranty covers repairs to correct defects in materials or workmanship. It's definitely a good idea to call the dealership for more information. Nothing beats a well-maintenanced vehicle, however !

William - is this your way of saying the OP would have to pay for whatever "maintenance" the dealer performs?

Maintenance work is different from warranty work, unless you have a vehicle maintenance contract. Now, with the purchase or lease of all eligible vehicles sold on or after May 1, 2013, the Chevrolet 2-Year Maintenance Program will provide owners select required services in accordance with their vehicle’s Owners Manual, for 2 years or 24,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Customers are limited to 4 service events during the service period. These services include:
  • ACDelco Oil and filter change
  • 4-wheel Tire Rotation
  • 27 Point Vehicle Inspection (MPVI)
I hope that clears it up,

Is the Camaro an "eligible" vehicle under this plan? I bought mine in May, just wondering. (Not to hijack the thread OP.)
