Completely disagree. The AFM kicking in was easily noticable on the drive home from the dealership.

UPDATE. My wife picked up the car this week from the body shop (post repair to hit&run). I had them revert to the OEM engine mounts (remove Pfadt mounts). My wife reported that the vibration / resonation is gone. It seems that those solid mounts transmitted the AFM vibration straight into the cabin. I will report more when I get home.

Agree. At first thought there was something wrong and the engine was missing.

You really didn't need to go to that Extreme... There is a simple on/off switch you know...

Enjoy it...

I waited 45 years to be able to afford a camaro. Bought the SS1 with auto-trans.

Immediatly noticed that something wasn't right and discovered that the car was running as designed (AFM).

I had not bought an American auto in years after the disasters of the 70's.

Now I am sick to my stomach and practically in tears with anger.

My dream - destroyed (who need a muscle car in which the only way to make it run smooth is "bitch slap" shifting (paddles..what a joke).

I love every other aspect of the car, but running with 4 cylinders doing nothing (programmed misfiring) is a joke.

I will never by another american car.

At the very least, take the time to let GM and your sales manager know how unhappy you are with your brand new car. Try to get your sales manager to take the car back if you haven't put many miles on it. People just don't notice it on a test drive, and once you buy the car, you are stuck with it.

Of course if you are willing to live without a full drive train warranty, a simple tuning modification makes all the difference.

And with a few other simple trans tuning mods the A6 is an absolute blast to drive. I'm loving mine now.

U might call Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-222-1020.
And let them know how u feel. If enough express their discuss, GM might do something.

I had the same feelings and asked if I could swap it for a manual trans, no luck.

Good luck with that.... GM won't even give us true answers on AFM.... but give it a try, the more people that do, the more they can ignore! Love my Camaro, hate the Corporate BS!
