Just saying" theres a lot of intakes still even though we may seem like we are limited" and the LOD being one is sharp and not so ungainly in appearance covering the entire top of the engine with twin throttle bodies, though the tunnel ram effect is nice so it can be nice with many intakes. The word was on the Edelbrock that's what the coolest of applications of it would be for twin turbo twin throttle body set up as one would kind of look cool...… https://www.bing.com/images/search?q...s3&FORM=IQFRML

I have been here on this forum a long time, I was on the thread that would not die and finally has only to live someday again, it was called the Vararam VRX intake thread …...Like Moby Friggin Dick we were waiting to get a phenolic long runner intake to outdo the FAST and it just never got patented and never materialized ...and I was here..ROFL…..

https://www.lsxmag.com/news/vararam-...or-ls-engines/

There was no Luck to be found and production never commenced unfortunately for this one. Its good the LOD intake came out and others also as a true use would be more for Twin Turbo with a twin throttle body.... ..That's nice and symmetrical in appearance and the plumbing would be right there with improved flow for big potential and be cool for shows etc.... for example those pics from Bing, and others.
But the larger a intake also the larger its presence and ability to heat soak some also thus phenolic is nice but not always practical for higher performance … I am venting my hood just as is with the lack of engine weather strip in the middle cut out above the firewall but need more and will have to get ZL1 vent or aftermarket hood or hex vents some day myself.

I saw all that stuff on the Edelbrock long ago, I used to build all my old chevys with edelbrock intakes and valve covers and even some heads, but mostly Carter afb type carbs also, and intakes, and cams.

Think I kind think it as most its : Large and yup you don't see one under a Camaro hood, I would think its more for aftermarket LS install by like say 90%...but a engine that needs the increased flow ...best I would say one like mine a stroker even some aftermarket small bore ls7 and good 1.8 rockers....Bet it would sing.

The Vararam VRX they developed though had a good gain with it also for Torque....and its a shame they could just make Copo intakes and nothing for us...….Anyway that's a ramble, I have to run back to Get O.T. ,.... There were of course precursors to many things that eventually come down the pike or don't. The LOD is pretty and symmetrical and beefy and that's nice compared to maybe some lessor quality maybe sheet metal type intake.
The Edelbrock is like the Nelson so much larger than the LOD and twin TB....and there were precursors of larger leading to both's development I am sure having seen them.....
Yet costs versus effectiveness and appearance and practicality have not made the Edelbrock a common choice, more over extremely rare on here...Heck I might have seen one.....? over the years on here maybe.... But for many of us oldtimers on the thread from the dead dealing with the VRX it would have been nice to get to try the intake out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!its numbers sounded awesome for its design being different. Did not even take the time to read this article about the VRX sure I have read it before, but I hope you enjoy it. Would have liked to be a mule for the intake. But as always taste is subjective and if I did the twin TB I would have to go Twins..... gotta run.

Awesome, do you have dyno results of your current setup?

Yup drilling and tapping things on aluminum intakes sucks as it does with steel, and especially plastic. All require being careful. Do not see a Cross ram on Hollys site just mid and high rises etc...nothing like the Edelbrock cross or nelson , had a 76 Buick regal t-top once though...lol painted it metallic blue jacked It up and put a stinger scoop on it with Buick rally wheels....LOL Thing had crushed velvet blue interior and I got a drivers seat to convert from split bench to two buckets...LOL ah memories....

What is your plan for syncing the throttle bodies?

I had to cut into the wiper cowl and bend the wiper arms. It does have vacuum ports though. Slowly making progress fabbing everything back up.
