Trans Am event at Road Atlanta - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Well who knew that the Trans Am series is still running! One of the camaro drivers is active on camaro5 and is offering us a tour of their operation when they race at Road Atlanta on November 3.

Let me know if anyone is interested (I'm going), and depending on the amount of interest will determine how organized I make this. Tickets are cheap and all of the racing should be good...this used to be the American factory race series and is what pretty much created the Z/28.

Two weeks later they will be at Daytona for the last race of the season.
Sunday November 17th.
I will be there helping out my friend who is running his Camaro in the event.
(some of these guy are going to be tuning laps as fast as Daytona Prototypes)

It does look like fun.

Tickets are $ 25.00 for the day ($ 15 if you are a SCCA member) and $ 5 dollars for parking.

They have 3 classes and they are all pretty much Camaros, Corvettes, and Mustangs. They should be really quick and good close racing. There will be other racing going on that weekend as well, so should be plenty of action for the money.

If we get enough interest, then I will work on reserved parking and will set up the tour with the driver. He placed second this past weekend at Mid-Ohio and I believe he has 5 wins and 2 seconds this year. He appears to be the man in T2.

His name is Cameron and you can see his posts under the Camaro Motorsports thread, sounds like a great guy and looks like he actually owns a Camaro. He has videos posted of each race from this year in his post, so check them out as well.
