Wheel Finish question: "Neo Chro", "Burnt Titanium"

Anyone know how this is done?
Chemical Vapor Deposition?
Physical Vapor Deposition?
Anodizing?

Will it scratch with normal cleaning?
Are there any capable domestic suppliers? Not necessarily the wheels, but the finish?

I've always wanted to know how they get the "black chrome" finish. I think these rim's look pretty cool too but would have to be on the right car. I don't think it would go with any car.

I agree, I would really think hard before putting those wheels on my car... might not be able to pull it off with the new camaro. But to each his own.

I have no clue how they get that finish, watch you should ask the manufacturer is if the wheel is clear coated... if that finish (however they do it) has a good layer of clear on it, you're good.

It looks almost like it has been heated and left to cool after it discolored. Neat.

check out the Ford GT

This is PVD, this equipment is no joke, especially for parts this size.
CVD is even crazier. I'd get the whole car in Neo if I could. I'll put rice on the plates.
No, make that SSUSHI
