Trifecta Tune - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hi Guys,

I have a v6 camaro... and I've read online that the Trifecta tune is a good tune. (The only one for v6?) Anyway, I talked to one of the tuners, and he said it was a good Tune, and something I didn't understand... something about HHR? or HDR? something like that. Can anyone tell me what that is?

Also, I was wondering if it makes a difference tuning before or AFTER I get my CAI, exhaust, and or other performance mods. Right now, my Camaro is stock.

Don't know about your first question, but if you get additional mods, you'll need to get it retuned to optimize the mods.

Although this will turn into another of the tuner threads, just be aware that changing your powertrain calibration will void your powertrain warranty.

That being said, there are a lot of people here who can help you with the appropriate state of modification and tuning that works best for the V-6

Entirely not sure what you are referring to in your first question, but call Nate at Nallen Engineering with questions, PM me for his phone number.

I have the tune. There is really no point in getting a tune done on a v6 unless you want to move the shift points for your tranny. Vince at Trifecta can do that. Once you get an intake, headers, exhaust etc. Vince can look at your datalogs and fine tune the Air-fuel ratio and what not.

Sorry......I forgot to mention it, but I meant no point in doing a tune on a stock setup.

+1 wait until you have some intake and exhaust work done first. Vince tuned my LS3 and he did a great job! I would recommend him to anyone looking for a tune.

Bringing a dead thread back to life but w.e.!

i have a few questions about this tune. first off. how does he does it if he doesnt send a handle held device? second.

can you change tunes ( like have lets say 3 tunes ) ( racing , city , Factory)
can you change it yourself? like if something happens u change the tune to factory so they cant tell u tune?

You send Trifecta your info.. so what kinda setup you have.. they calibrate it for you, send you a device, you upload it and they keep your original setup as a backup for warranty purposes. After you install your tune, you send the device back.

Another option would be to find a local dealer who could work with Vince and load the tune and do the datalogs. No shipping charges for the device and the tune may cost you less depeneding on what they charge.

there are no real gains to be had on a stock v6 setup...

wait until you have mods done to it, then get a tune to take advantage of the mods installed...

This is correct! The cable can be purchased from the dealer as well.
