Confused after Head install

Had my heads ported , milled and larger exhaust valves. My tuner said I could drive the car but no WOT...Its getting dyno tuned Monday....All my bucking is gone.I can put it in 6th gear at 1k rpms and no bucking...Also idle has smoothed out ( car doesnt shake as much). What could have changed to cause these improvements without a revised tune?

Change in compression? A/f probably changed. My car actually lopes a little harder after getting tuned.

I'm unsure of the elimination of bucking. Is it in open or closed loop?

The tune probably needed more airflow. Now it has it.

Yes, According to my porter I should be around 11:1

So the original tune might of had too much fuel?

guessing your ECU was able to somewhat compromise the mod, but until the tune it won't be 100%. Your tuner is simply watching out for the well-being of your car until it's re tuned.

Another thing I noticed is the oil temp. Before it would easily climb into the mid 220's now it's taking forever to break 200°

tunes can be weird man I got mine tuned from fasterproms "jermey" Which is a well known good tuner. 2 months after the tune I got a lean code. got back with Jeremy and he thought I had a vacuum leak as it was very very lean at idle. checked for an hour couldn't find nothing, he added fuel just for the heck of it and has been fine for a month now and it was only idle that was lean.
