BTR stage 2 is a conservative cam that makes way more power than the LS9 cam. If you are going to the trouble of swapping them, you may as well go with something that has much more hp potential and still retain good driveability and a decent idle.

What springs with that cam Stephen? Do you have to change anything else using it? And not sure Kinpin. Very curious.

I did a LS9 cam on my first ZL1. Honestly, do another cam. The gains aren't worth the hassle or expense.

BTR has a matched set of springs for their cams. They are a great vendor and ship very quickly. BTR 3 is noticeably choppier than the Stage 2, but with a manual it will be fine. Most people get a stage 2 with the auto and stage 3 with the M6. Go to you tube and search idle clips to hear the difference. A stage 2 is very good because of the idle quality and streetability. Other than valve springs, you may have to get different length pushrods. Call them and talk to the tech and they will get you anything you need for the swap.

Hello and Welcome,

JRE offers engineered Power packages that come with Free custom tuning via the SCT handheld tuner for a plug and play power solution.

Our cam packages make incredible power on Low boost.

I can't recommend you change the upper pulley when you can do everything with the lower and maintain belt traction as high as possible with the stock upper pulley.

We now have 174 Thermostats we feel the 160 is too cold.

TR7IX plugs are recommended with our 650 RWHP Package.

Dynatech Long Tube headers with the new Supercats are also recommended to survive the rigors of supercharger applications.

JMS fuel pump voltage booster will be required to feed this hungry beast.

CNC ported heads are down the list of HP vs Dollars spent.

The Ported 90mm TB is good bang for the buck.

Feel free to give me a call to discuss your goals and answer any of your questions regarding your project.

Ted.

If you are opening up the motor, I would personally go a little more aggressive than the LS9 Cam. We have a few that we have extensive experience with that we are sold on. If you do the cam I would definitely do all the supporting mods that will provide you with trouble free driving. Trunions, springs, retainers, push rods, the whole kit and kaboodle. Kooks are great headers! I wouldn't recommend the s/c pulley. Instead I would go with a ATI - Overdrive Harmonic Balancer Kit to gain a little extra boost. The injectors are a great plan with more boost for sure. Thermostat is a good idea and the ported TB is also a good cheap way to increase power and throttle response.

IMO, the heads are awesome but there are a lot of other things to do that will be much more budget friendly first. They are just not a very good bang for the buck mod. If money is not a concern, do them!

Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.

All the best,
