Recaros are falling apart!
Well had the car for 4 months and have approx 5600 miles on the car and have to say I noticed this today on the left bolster of my $2k seats they look like $hit and the leather is like chunking off. Needless to say I'm a little more than upset right now.

Never put any cleaner or conditioner on them ever as the car is brand new.:(

Doesn't look good but if you SLIDE into your seat that will happen, especially wearing Jeans.
Even with the standard Camaro leather seats. The leather isn't cheap,it is of pretty good quality actually. This was discussed years ago here.

I am a big boy 6'1 230lbs but really? I understand it might wear there because of how bolstered the side of the seat it and you are getting in and out and rubbing on it but that is not acceptable on a $45k car.

Not exactly easy to not slide a little when your 6'1 and add to that the bolstering on the side.

Same thing happened to my seats, and the dealer indicated it was just wear and wouldn't replace them, but I heard of other who have been successful. I e-mail a guy on the internet and he said he would be able to repair the seat for $80, but I never got around to doing it.

I have Geico insurance and when you buy a new car they have an additional insurance you can get. It cost about $5-7 bucks a month on your policy, but it gives you bumper to bumper coverage no matter if you caused the damage or its wear and tear. It covers your vehicle for a hundred thousand miles bumper to bumper. I had to use it twice on a truck that I had about 10,000 miles after the 36000 mile warranty expired, once the radiator cracked another time the rear end blew out both were over $2000 fixes and all I have to do is pay the small ductable. also use it once when my wife had her navigator and a leather seats because they were perforated started to you the same thing and they replaced athe seat, no questions asked. All I have to do is drop it off at the dealer and the dealer took care of it with the insurance.

I had already condition my seats 2x By the time I had it 4 months. I'll have the car a year by the end of the month and I've probably cleaned and conditioned them 6x and I'm getting ready to do it again soon... I'm 5'10" 230 with a effed back from my job so my azz drags on the bolster often. Gotta keep that leather supple man.

Here is what I do to avoid sliding on the seat bolster:
Move the seat all the way back before exiting -that makes it easier to get out, and when you get back in, the seat is back and you simply plop down on the seat bottom. |

That's what I do to avoid striking interior trim with my foot on the way out. I'll have custom leather on my car by Monday, so it's good to know that what I already do will pay off even more than it already does.
