Or I suppose you could do a wicked burnout, create so much heat the sand turns to glass, and then shatter your way out!

Is it heavy? Absolutely. But it's a big car. Is it slow? LOL When you throw on a 6.2 liter V8 like GM is doing, you make up for the weight, so definitely not slow. 0 to 60 in around 4.5 will never be considered slow. The choice of this V8 more than compensates for the weight deficit the car clearly has.

I realized that the reason the Camaro seems so heavy to me is the difference in weight between the V6 and the SS. I was expecting 3700 lbs, and that's what we got with the V6 models. However, I was only expecting the SS to weight at most 100 lbs more, not 200. When you realize the SS also includes extra fluid coolers and beefier brakes, it starts to make sense.

As long as you're not "street racing" then what does .02 seconds difference make? So many macho fools out there who will put themselves & people at risk just to be the "winner off the line".
Of course when the lane ahead is blocked off for construction or roadwork & you don't think the guy next to you will let you over, then you gotta be able to get there on your own whether he likes it or not...... I'm ready for my V6 RS/LT loaded - I don't care about racing. I LOVE the looks of this car & I'll be happy rolling with my 300hp / 6.1 second 0-60 2010 Camaro....
