hahaha thanks for all the help guys. I just ordered a magnaflow resonated x-pipe (#11386) from JDP for $90 shipped. I feel pretty comfortable going this route.

You're correct. There will be some decel pop, but not enough to be classified as "out the wazoo." I actually like it. That's how a muscle car is supposed to sound.

The mufflers have no effect on emissions, and as for the warranty, my service manager says they don't care what you do downstream of the cats. Obviously, they're not going to warrant the mufflers and resonator he just deleted, but I don't think he's too concerned about that. I have a 1999 Corvette with LT headers, HF cats and no mufflers. It has never failed an emissions check. If the kid wants to delete his mufflers, I say more power to him (pun intended).

I'm not too concerned with the warranty as far as the exhaust is concerned. I'm not looking for performance gains here either, just sound. Any performance gains that may result would just be an added bonus. And I want some decel pop. Honestly, as long as I can find a shop to do it for a decent price, this sounds like an ideal setup. I have had one shop quote me 355 and another quote me 550. However, those were both before I ordered my own part. These are prices from privately owned shops. Would a commercial shop such as a midas or meineke be less expensive? Again, as long as it works, i'm not too concerned about the asthetics.

That's the 2.5" pipe, right?
I tried the website and couldn't find it.

JDP runs this site. If you are going to order it, I would call them and speak to someone personally. Make sure to mention you are from Camaro5

No disrespect, but there are plenty of videos that prove the camaro sounds pretty good with this setup. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but so far, it seems to be yours and yours alone.

Here's some audio. Ignore the open-cutouts pass, and you'll get a pretty good idea what your setup is going to sound like.

I just want to confirm that the x-pipe is 2.5". I've found some low priced ones on line, and just want to make sure that I'm not getting the right size.
Does it matter what brand x-pipe?

Yes, it's a 2.5". As far as brands go, I am not sure. I had magnaflow recommended to me. American made!
