MPG on a cam

My car is a 2012 camaro 1ss manual currently its stock (just an axleback) but I’m looking at a cam in the future, currently I’m getting around 29mpg on the highway and 14 in the city (beating on the throttle occasionally). How much would it tank if I put let’s say a GPI SS3 in it? The car is my daily driver btw.

This question has been answered numerous times. The search button at the top right is your friend. But I went from 23 mpg on the highway to 21-22 mpg at around 70 mph with the GPI SS1 camshaft. I don't know how you get 29 mpg.

a lot will depend on the tune and the overall combination. All an aftermarket performancr cam does is open the valves higher and longer than a stock one.

The more air that goes through the motor, the more fuel it will consume

If I drive mine normal without getting on it, its almost the same as stock, maybe a little lower but overall not too bad.

I'm running a Night Fury cam. I went from 18 MPG to 15 MPG. I think that's more the Tune than just the mechanics of the Cam.

I get an avg of 200 miles to the tank, sometimes way waaaaaaaaay less. I also use E85 and I’m cammed/boosted. If you’re worried about gas consumption… don’t do it.

You will lose significant fuel mileage witht that cam. Dont mod if losing that bothers you. With my setup now, i think im in the negatives somehow lol
