I plan on doing Longtubes, thats why I got my CAI intake. Also JRE showed how much of a gain the CAI gave, so I was happy. Plus the MPG gain is Sweet

You keep saying ''need'' buy what you want. I promise your car won't break if you don't have it, if that's what you're wondering...I bought it because it let's my car breath and it sounds great (also adds hp and better gas milage).

Go to the Engine Mod section of these forums and you see very quickly that a CIA, Long Tube headers, Exhaust and a tune will be very noticable!
By far the best MODS you can do for the money! Just a CIA not much there but you add the other three! they all go perfect together and it will be a totaly different car. Go to that forum and read around. You'll learn alot. Good section. Personaly I wouldn't do a CIA if I didn't plan on doing the others. Your helping letting air in but it still has to go out. |

Thanks for the help and clarity, I have another question you might be able to help with. I'm wanting to order a cam in the next few months and have been looking at TSP LS3 231/236 or the LS3 235/239. I'm wanting a cam that is almost too big for street but not quite big enough for the track. As you familiar with these cams or are the any other cams you might recommend? |

it's well worth the money, it looks good, it sounds good, it frees up a lot of space under the hood which makes maintenance much easier, you'll be glad you bought it and it will pay for itself is gas savings over the years, not to mention replacing paper filters. Do it right, just buy the whole intake, you've got a $25,000 car, a $300 intake is a drop in the bucket.

Yeah they used to be great and big hyped, but now there are so many better options out there.
I think K&N sell some today just with their name. I think Cold Air Inductions got the best name for what they sell haha

Ok most replies on here are 100% right, but to be straight! Forward it's basically a mod to give some hp gain 2-10hp(depending on which CAI) even with no aftermarket exhaust u get alil more rumble( sounds better) and when u pop ur hood open to show it looks better then just a black box( appearance) and increase in MPG ( a long as u don't drive like me cause you won't see that lol ) and if u want real increases in performance get ( headers, exhaust, tune) that's just my 2cents

If you look on this topic, I just posted the difference that switching from a K&N to a CAI inc w/ADM race scoop, to an ADM w/Race Intake wscoop! I definitely like the ADM CAI and race scoop over any others. It will give you the lowest IAT's and it also puts your MAF inside your sealed air box instead of leaving it out!!
