question about resonator delete???

OK basically the title says the question what is resonator or muffler delete are they the same or different? Ive seen videos that say this and users that have this setup so what exactly is deleting resonators? thanks and yea if you see all the threads ive started they are mainly questions but you have teached me everything I know til now about this awesome car. thank you C5 users in advance.

it just means to take them out and have a piece of straight pipe welded into place.


i deleted my mufflers and it got somewhat louder,but still not quite loud enough,i may do the resonator delete also.

The resonator is BEFORE the mufflers on the L99 A6 models. It is designed to harmonically cancel out the exhaust drone that occurs when the DOD kicks in. Think of it as a huge ass third muffler. I had mine replaced with a X-Pipe and mufflers deleted. Sounds BAD ASS! Unless you tune out the DOD though the drone can be very annoying.

No, it should not throw a CEL... it is well down stream of the O2 sensors

Check this thread link. ARK installed N-II. it is only X-pipe with straight flow 2.75" pipe.
