Downgrade? Lol. I wouldn't say all that, that's a bit drastic. Z/28 is and will have to be garage queen and in a trailer to be hauled out to a track only on warm track days. I can drive my ZL1 whenever and be comfortable. Downgrade? That's a bit of a scccrrreeeettttccchhhh.

In actuality with ZL-1 being the king camaro, the Z-28 should be a step down being stripped away of any goodies and purely a race street legal car. But... GM doesn't anticipate on selling many at all. So it's possible it'll cost more just because. I say it's worth 45k but they'll probably want 60k for it.

Like I have said all along the 3.91 gears should have been an option in the ZL1. Take the wheels, tires, brakes, and lighter seats with 3.91 gears and put them in the ZL1 and there wouldn't be that much difference between the two cars.
I'm assuming that the Z28 has the larger rear end that the ZL1 has so maybe we can put the 3.91 gears in our ZL1's for the guys looking for better 1/4 mile, 0 to 60 , and track times. This would probably give as much of a performance gain as a CAI and tune without messing with the warranty. This way you would have a better looking car ( I think away ) with all the comforts that a new car should have. |

OMG!!!! I want this car so bad. I have always loved the Z/28 series. My wife is going to hate the fact that all I will talk about now is this car.

Who'd have thought that within 3 years the mighty ZL1 would become the "second best" Camaro?

I knew we were in trouble when that Fbody guy said that Climate Control and Memory added to much weight to a car. Fred Flintstone would love this new Z/28.

I like it. Can't wait to see where the pricing falls on this car. If it is fair I may find my way back into a Camaro.

I'm all for the hard core Z28 but the AC delete would be tough here in Texas. ;-)

They needed them for the wider tires, they were not going to make special fenders and quarter panels just for the Z/28...
