would this be the stingray concept ? i like , but it could easily be done on the current c6/ zr1 drivetrain.

You guys are aware that the Porsche 911 Turbo is just a flat 6 with twin turbos and gets to 60 and quarter mile quicker than the beloved ZR1? I can't wait to see the 911 Turbo S next year.
I am no Porsche fanboy, but don't discount a 6 cyclinder engine. |

and the 911 turbo has those excellent numbers because it has 1 thing AWD. while the corvette is struggling for traction all the way through 4th gear, the porsche driver has his foot to the floor. however the corvette starts to catch up considering the two cars both have the same trap speed in the 1/4. if it were a mile race im sure the corvette would rape. |

Who the hell bench races a full mile!
Come on now. My only point is a turbo 6 can get the job done. If the base C8 had a turbo 6, what would the higher level corvettes have? |

You could do the same thing with an AWD 4 banger too if you tried hard enough. A ZR1 isn't supposed to be a 0-60 monster, unlike AWD sports cars where 0-60 is the only place it really helps. The ZR1 is supposed to have crushing mid range and top end acceleration. After all, most race tracks don't have much time spent below 50 mph.

I heard the seventh generation Camaro is going to have these headlights.
I think you see where I'm going. We don't have a C7, so a C8 is a pretty ridiculous thing to plan out now. Even if we were planning it, the rumors would be so numerous and baseless that any discussion would deviate from the truth to a saturated point of ridiculousness.

i feel that a V8 like this would be proper in a mid engine corvette. http://www.evo.co.uk/news/evonews/24...rsche_911.html |

Future Vette technologies, powertrains and chassis configurations have been a full-time passtime forever...
The early '70s predicted Wankels, and mid-engines, and all manner of varied configurations. Yet, as we've seen, the basic "Plastic Fantastic" is still rear driven and front-engined. Go back 23 years, and a Regal V6 Turbo was THE street performance straight line champ, with far better real world mpg than ANY V8 Vette, and quicker 0-60/quarter mile times, in a far heavier package. 2016 calls for some currently-radical thinking and execution. Don't bet against ANY "possibility"...except the Vette SHOULD be a GM "halo", performance-wise, although, as noted, that's not always been the case... |
