Need aftermarket tunnel brace with clearance??

HI guys, so I've been dealing with this awful rattle for weeks and i was able to figure out it was my resonator (L99) hitting against the tunnel brace, i removed the tunnel brace and now no rattle! However from reading through the forums it seems it is needed, so does anyone know of an aftermarket tunnel brace that has some clearance on it and wont rattle?? I heard the BMR one might have more clearance?? Also disclaimer i removed all the heatshielding around my resonator already.

Thanks friends!!

I've heard many that left it off. I am in the process of putting a full 3" exhaust on and plan on leaving the brace off...

Loosen the clamps, lift the pipes, tighten the clamps. The design is for it to fit without touching.

Remove the resonators. Add some washers. Adjust the exhaust. Take your pick.

Not that it's up as a debate point, but I took mine off years ago... 3.5 inch exhaust and 2K RWHP, driving the crap out of it and no issues.... I took most of the heat insulation out as well.... I only left the piece where the tunnel turns up at the firewall....

Obviously GM put it there for a reason, but I've had no issue without it....

Have to check carefully for clearances, and adjust resonator, pipes, etc accordingly with at least 1/4" clearance. Also used a few washers on the brace spanner bar to get more clearance. Tap or ping any heat shielding to check for rattles and kink, bend as required until there is no rattle. It's amazing how much noise a small exhaust interference or heat shield rattle can make, and these make you think there is some suspension issue.

I've read that if you take it off, insurance can that brace as an excuse to not pay out if your vehicle gets totaled, but not sure how much of that is true. I myself have the resonator sitting on the brace but am not experiencing any kind of rattling from that area.

I remember having to take the Z braces off my 2nd gens for LT headers. Wonder how many did that.
