Absolutely. Just look at the hellhole that the residents of Windsor have to look at every single day:

Who could live, let alone work, in a place that looks like that?

Pretty sad to think (or have thought) that Cadillac's success is connected to where it's headquarters is located. Really? Hopefully Cadillac can recover from it's shallow PR move to New York City and GM will quit wasting money on phony, trendy-toady headquarters image campaigns to improve sales. Just build cars that people will buy, and their last concern will be where the headquarters is located.

I can show you some beautiful pics we took of the shoreline in Mogadishu. Doesn’t mean I’d want to work there. Detroit is the poorest city in the US. It also has one of the highest crime rates. Spin it all you want.

As is the case with most major cities, Detroit has some beautiful areas and some places you wouldn't want to be found in after dark. The general tone is that the city is well into a long needed and very impactful comeback. We can find stats that show problems with crime, poverty, and literacy rates. We can also find stats that show spiking property values, strong job creation, relocation of major companies to the city's downtown areas.

In the meantime, here's my bunker

She’s beautiful Jim.

Hopefully Detroit makes a come back, but it will never be NYC. Sure there are some some bad parts of NY, but it’s a truly international city. Having been to both, there is no comparison. Chicago has a pretty skyline too, but the crime on the south side is horrific. I think they are trying to become the next Detroit, or Fallujah, for some unknown reason.

I agree, I don't think most people would care (or know) where the headquarters is. I do think people will pay more for a BMW regardless of where it is made because the company is based in Germany though.

I don't know why anyone thought New York city would be synonymous with high end car design though.

Pretty arrogant of Cadillac to think it needed to "distance itself from the rest of GM"....They were lucky GM didn't feel the need to distance itself from Cadillac like they did with Pontiac and Oldsmobile...lol...

There was a lot of attempted symbolism with the move, but Cadillac really should distance itself from the other GM brands. There's no reason a $90k CT6 should have the same door handles as a $27k Malibu, which is what the beancounters were initially pushing for.
