What should I get next?
I'm about to receive my Doug Thorley Catback system for my 2010 Camaro SS L99 as listed here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125385
My question is what should I get next, Doug Thorley Shorty Headers or cold air intake? I also want to do a tune right after I get either of those that way I can tune the AFM out. The reason why I want to get shorties instead of LT's is because I don't want to deal with the whole inspection stuff and especially since I'll be moving to California within the next 2 months. Thanks. |

I have a Vararam cai and I love it. Do some readingon some of the other ones out there. Also Throttle body, tune. Also read about a catch can, they are worth it down the road. No H/P but will help keep your engine clean.

The shorty headers are not going to do much for you. Not sure bout the shorty cost. I recommend going to rear gears with your L99. 3.70 for a street driven car. You will really wake up performance. When you tune out the AFM you insert the new ratio. Cost could be a little more for the gears but performance gain huge compared to shorty's.

Shorties made no power gains when we tested them for a customer that brought them to be installed. You might run a search for my post to check it out. We offer camshafts that are CA friendly, and we can help you with other bolt ons like intakes & pulleys!
Give us a call if we can help! |

With a Corsa Cat back and a CAI cold air induction and a dyno tune I gained 28 HP on my 2011 2SS/RS. The CAI gathered about 80% of the HP gain. Check out the Jannety tests on CAI and make your choice

If your moving to CA none of the CAI's are C.A.R.B. approved and will not pass visual inspection. You have to have your car smog tested to get the registration changed to CA. Get what you want and put it on after your car registeration has been changed to CA.
Then go with LT's and a good CAI.
