You may know one or two police officers, however that is not going to get you out of this if another cop tickets you for it.. Once you get written up, even if your friend calls up the officer that wrote you up, they will be hard pressed to make the ticket disappear. Also, window tinted that dark will cause trouble seeing thru the sides and rear because you don't have light shining out in that direction as you do in the front. Very dangerous.. But good luck though, hope nothing happens to you..

As for wipers, rain-x doesn't stop you from getting tons of bugs on the windshield which will also make it harder to see on a road trip..

I'll get a work order to get the tint taken off and then it will have to pass inspection, this is where a cop friend comes in handy. I drove it around during the day today and it's not that dark inside while driving, at night it is darker but still not too bad. Still, I don't plan on driving it around at night very often because it is dangerous. Worst case with the cops...I'll take it off if I have to.

This also is not my daily driver, if it was, I wouldn't be doing any of this because it is too dangerous to be driving around all the time like that.

Too dangerous to be driving around all the time like that, then it's too dangerous to be driving around. YOU may not be the one who gets hurt.

Don't be surprised if or when you get into an accident you are automatically found at fault. Having said that...it does look sweet!

I'll be getting 70% on my windshield. The guy who is gonna do it will give me half price (regular price of $150 chopped down to $75) for letting him post it on his company's website. Once it gets done, I'll post pics and who did it. BTW, the tinting is being done in Grand Rapids, MI.

Sounds like we need Matrix to set you straight. Ask him about his driver side window tint on his Dodge Magnum...

Im so glad Maryland is far from Texas, where I spend most of my time. I'd hate to have you on the road around me with that. Incredibly irresponsible I hope no kids are out around dusk or if, God forbid, your plans to not drive in the rain are messed up by surprise shower...but hey you can just tell their mothers how cool your car looks right?

You should remove it up to the line. For your own safety and others.

There's appearance and there's functionality. Don't get the 2 confused.
Don't prioritize appearance over functionality.

I have tinted my front windshield however I used a very light Tint. ITs not the light you are trying to keep out its the UV rays. anything more than 30% on the front windshield is Thats if you even tint the front windshield.

Here in Texas where front Tint is needed is not allowed. Only side and rear are allowed.

If you go to a dermatologist you can get a prescription for a lighter tint than what you have but it is something and then take it to the Dept of Public Safety which in turn will allow the window tinter to apply it legally.
This is the case in Texas at least. I have had a melanoma issue that did not spread and was taken care of and that is how I found out on being a legal issue. They also will give you a document for your glove box.
