Question Light resister question

I am not sure if this is the right section to post this, I looked and did not see one for this question.

I want to change the front directional lights to LEDs on my car. I have been told that if I do I will have to also install resisters or I will get "hyper flash"

Considering the rear directional lights are already LEDs (I believe). Do I still need to install resisters in for the front or do they all work off the same wiring?

For your turn signals, yes. But these resistors usually come included with the package - depending on where you buy.

I purchased a set of switchback turn signals from AAC (aacstyle.com) and they came with the resistors. I did not put them on, as I like the hyper-flash turn signal. You would install them for the bulbs you're replacing with LED.

If the lights in the front are regular incandescent bulbs, then you will need to add a load resistor, in parallel, with the LED bulbs to make them behave properly. You can easliy find what you need on Amazon/Ebay.

You will need to add resistance to prevent hyper flash. And with some vehicles, to prevent a message on the driver's information center of a burned out bulb. You can also get the led lights with the resistor built into them. I have them in the front. Therefore, no splicing of factory wires for resistors. If you have to splice, many times you can get an extension harness and then splice into that wiring.

Thank you, I am going to check out the LEDs with the resistors built in. I did not know that you can get them that way.

Take a look at superbrightleds.com
They have CAN bus bulbs for our turn signals and rear tail lights.

How much brighter are the LED lights than the incandescent ones? I like having bright front running lights.

In my experience the LED's are much brighter. Normally each site will have a lumens graph showing the brightness of each bulb.

I looked on their site and all the 7443 bulbs say no to can bus. Did I miss something? What is a can bus bulb? Do you still have to use a resister?

Yes you still have to use a load resistor.

Picture your turn signals flashing 3 times faster than normal.
